loose screws in the mail

I might have competition with scrap clock making. Yesterday I got a little package in the mail from Nellie, when I opened it up I was surprised at what I saw. She sent me a little quilt/clock/pin. Thank you Nellie! I'm not sure, but I think Nellie is one of the most creative, versatile human beings on the planet. Go spend some time on her blog and look at the scope of work she does and you will shake your head with envy, awe and even laughter! Her work has touched me many times before on many levels. I could go on and on about the depth of what she has to offer, if you are ever feeling stuck or frustrated, feeling like you need to lighten up or expand your tiny brain, go to her blog and see what it means to be an artist who makes art from a heart that knows no limits and an eye that sees past any horizon. I'm just hoping that the 'loose screws' isn't related to how she sees me!

A nice reminder to take time out to be creative, that every hour of our lives should be used artistically. Nellie, this pin is so cool. You have inspired me. I think one of my new years resolutions is to make collage pins! Paula, missed your posts. . . glad you are back.
Best regards,

Somebody does have a screw loose, but it's definitely in the right place. This is fabulous.

I will have to check out Nellie's blog. I've noticed she leaves very thoughtful comments on yours.

Make merry. Or at least make mischief!

I hear you guys are having a pretty tough winter out there. We have had snow and it's supposed to be freezing ice tomorrow. A lot of people suffer with SAD up here from the many dark days of winter, I've been making and selling jewelry and that's keeping my spirits up. Been sketching, but it's just too dark to paint. The colors just aren't coming to me.

hey minimal, long time no see.
glad you are doing the jewelry thing, great to hear! as for the SAD, this isn't about lack of sunshine, i just can' make it in life as an artist. or ANYTHING.

Good for Nellie! She does do some awesome stuff! Ha, people always tell me I have some screws loose... so???

Hey, I live down south and I suffer from SAD...but the process of creating art does help. Hard to be depressed when you're creating. It's the before and after that gets you!

Just wanted to say Hi! and wish you a warm and cozy holiday! Take care...keep creating!

Paula,
Thank you and you are most welcome. This particular piece shouted your name over my temptation to keep it for myself. I suspect you wear minimum jewelery and if you were to wear any at all, you might wear this. And no, I don't think you have any loose screws other than the kind that require a screw driver. I will be blogging soon about the making of this pin and a bunch of others made from the stuff those screws came out of.

nellie you are correct i do not wear any jewelry. but I put it next to the little quilt you gave me near my bedside and consider it to be part of my 'meditation' area.

What a fun piece!
Hope you're doing okay Paula, been thinking of you. A friend was saying how they just can't wait to get away from 2008, it was a rough year for the world, may 2009 bring more comfort and peace to us all.

Have you cheered up any?
I found a dump site here in Washington and picked up a few rusty goodies for you. If I make it to the post office tomorrow you may get them soon. That is if I can find your address.
